Equity offers a fresh approach within a sector that’s notorious for its complexity and excessive costs.

The Equity Networks value proposition came to be when Founders/Directors Alex Hall and Marcos Reid concluded that a rigid Corporate approach to Business IT & Communications was not what most UK Business customers needed or wanted.

Traditional vendors without a clear vision for the future continued to promote old world technology solutions (obsolete PBX’s & Capex heavy Server Infrastructures) to ‘balance the books’. This we believed was selling customers short, doing them a disservice and denying them the agility needed to adapt to an ever-changing workplace environment.

The solution – We adopted a 100% Cloud-based philosophy very early on.

With no ‘old world baggage’ or legacy systems to slow us down, this proved to be the right decision.

With 30+ years of industry experience – Equity Networks Ltd was formed in 2010 as a start-up, with the mantra of offering value or ‘equity’ back to business owners that were being taken advantage of, by the major Managed Service Providers at the time – selling outdated technology solutions ‘simply to hit the numbers’.

Instead, we wanted to create a Company that offered a boutique Internet, Communications (& ultimately IT) service, with customer needs being listened to & understood rather than the ‘sheep dip’ approach to service delivery adopted by larger Services Integrators.

Customer Intimacy was the name of the game, with Equity Directors/Stakeholders having an in-depth knowledge of each of our customers IT needs, but more importantly, their Business Plans too!

After a successful first 2-3 years, it was clear that SMB owners/managers considered their IT support service as part of the Unified Communications debate, and we were increasingly being asked to advise on IT strategy in addition to Internet provision, Network Security and Communications.

In order to maintain the desired Service Levels it was decided that ‘IT’ could no longer be outsourced, and had to become part of our Core Offering, supplied and supported by Equity’s in-house helpdesk and technical staff, hence the first acquisition, of Centric Systems Ltd – a small but well established (13 years old) IT supplier in Berkshire.

We now support over 275 UK organisations, ranging from entrepreneur-led start-ups, right up to FTSE 100 listed organisations, but with the same attention to detail afforded to everyone we come into contact with.

We have re-invested in the business and established a senior management team with over 75 years of industry experience, a team that brings Global Service Delivery expertise, GDPR Compliance, Network Design and audit capabilities ….

Using the best technologies available from the world’s leading Cloud Technology providers, we aim to simplify/de-mystify the ICT landscape so that Business Owners understand exactly what they need, and at a fixed monthly fee.

All from one trusted supplier – Equity – rather than multiple confusing bills for seemingly the same service.

Our Strategic Business Plan is aggressive but achievable – it will see Equity continue to achieve double-digit growth for the next 3 years, doubling in turnover. The plan will be achieved via a blend of steady organic growth and further planned acquisition(s). Exciting times lay ahead, we are at the epicentre of the Cloud ICT shake-up, ideally placed to scale and assist UK Small to Medium Enterprise.
