1. Yes, it is suitable for you
When a product is as powerful as this one, it can seem like it’s only designed for huge businesses, with huge workforces and even bigger budgets. But actually, as you’ll see from some of the other points on this list, Dynamics 365 is incredibly flexible in terms of how much of that power you access at once, and how you choose to use it.
There are two versions – Business and Enterprise – because Microsoft’s goal in creating this software was to empower every business to develop and evolve through outstanding business software. So it’s definitely designed to be scalable, flexible, and accessible no matter the size of your business or budget.
There are seven key apps as part of Dynamics 365, but you can choose to use one, two, some, many, or all of them. You’ll only pay for the ones you use, so you’re never paying out for functionality your business doesn’t want or need.
2. It will be fully available next year
The November 1st launch introduced the Enterprise version of Dynamics 365, with the Business version expected to follow towards the beginning of next year. There’s no fixed release date at this stage, but indications suggest quarter 1.
If you’d like to stay up to date on the news about new releases, let us know and we’ll keep you in the loop.
3. The licensing is extremely flexible
There are essentially three different licensing models for Dynamics 365, which can be used in combination to get exactly what you need.
App – you pay for the individual apps
Plan – plan pricing is for users who will be working in multiple apps
Team Member – the team member pricing provides light usage across the different apps, for users who may only need a small amount of access
You can mix and match licenses, so you may have some users on app pricing because they only ever use one app, others on a plan because they access everything, and others on team pricing because they only need read access or occasional use.
4. It integrates with Office 365
Dynamics 365 is designed to bring together its 7 applications with perfect integration, but it goes beyond that too. The deep integration with Office 365 is one of its hugely beneficial features, especially the Outlook integration. When you receive an email from a customer, you can send documents, quotes, or invoices directly from Outlook, without having to go out to the Financials app.
When you’re working on emails, you can easily see related documents, opportunities, and account status details in the sidebar – even if you have multiple recipients in the email.
5. If you’re on Dynamics CRM, you won’t be forced to upgrade immediately
If you’re a current user of Dynamics CRM online, Microsoft do want you to move onto 365, but they’re not going to force you to do that right away. Indications are currently that there will be up to a couple of years before any migration is forced (though that’s obviously not set in stone).
Of course, with the enhanced benefits 365 offers, you may well want to move sooner. We can help you with your migration, especially if you have a highly customised version of CRM. In fact, we can help you migrate to Dynamics 365 even if you’re using a customised on-premise version.
